Pouchitis: What It Is and How to Cope With It

Brooke Bogdan suffered from extreme nausea and vomiting, bloody stool, and was going to the bathroom 25 to 40 times daily. She was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis. She’d been hospitalized, needed blood transfusions, and was too ill to perform daily tasks.

“I couldn’t eat and wasn’t sleeping, and my medication stopped working,” she wrote in a blog post for Everyday Health. “I was the sickest I had ever been.”
